Urban Heat & Albedo
Heat Resilience measures how well a surface reflects sunlight instead of absorbing it as heat (albedo). Higher albedo (lighter, reflective surfaces like concrete or light roofs) means lower heat absorption and better heat resilience. Lower albedo (dark surfaces like asphalt) absorbs more heat and increases urban heat stress.
